Den här boken var helt omöjlig att lägga ifrån sig. Jag ville veta vad som skulle hända med Demon som verkligen är en underdog. Inget går bra för honom. När jag tror att det inte kan bli värre blir det ändå så.
Det är hemskt att läsa om Demon och hans vänner som nästan alla växer upp utan sina föräldrar som sitter i fängelse, är döda eller är missbrukare.

Det är den första boken jag läst av författaren Barbara Kingsolver men inte den sista. Författaren tilldelades Womens Prize For Fiction 2023 och jag förstår varför. Det här är inte en bok som jag kommer att glömma.
